Nothing Pretty About Them
How could such a nasty condition have such a nice name? When you think of a “mosaic”, you might envision an inlaid table or mural, sparkling with brightly painted tiles. “Mosaic warts”, on the other hand, are among the most stubborn and difficult to treat warts that typically occur on the feet. The warts get their name from the pattern of groups or clusters in which they typically appear. What makes them particularly bothersome is that they can be resistant to treatment, often calling for a combination of treatments before they are completely cleared up. Taking all factors into consideration, your doctor might recommend such treatments as topical chemicals, surgical removal, or cryosurgery (“freezing”).
Warts! Nobody wants them and luckily, there are several effective methods available today that podiatrist can use to get rid of them. But, as an infections caused by a virus, warts almost never go away on their own, and you’d be smart to have them removed once you discover them.
Warts can occur virtually anywhere on the foot, but they are most common on the sole, where they are called plantar warts.
